2013. december 12-13.-án a Nemzeti Fejlesztési Minisztérium, az ITS Hungary Egyesület, az ERTICO és a HeERO projekt közös szervezésében került megrendezésre Budapesten a HeERO projekt workshopja. A workshop mottója „Moving toward an integrated Europe Pan-European eCall service in the HeERO countries” ("Haladjuk egy integrált Európa irányába Pán-európai eCall szolgáltatás a HeERO tagállamokban”) volt.

A HeERO projekt 1. fázisának célja az volt, hogy előkészítse a szükséges infrastruktúra európai alkalmazását azzal a céllal, hogy a harmonizált páneurópai, interoperábilis járműfedélzeti vészhelyzeti segélyhívó szolgáltatás, az „eCall” „valósággá” váljon. A HeERO projekt 2. fázisának általános célkitűzése: a projekt kiterjesztése az új tagállamokra, illetve a társult országokra, annak érdekében, hogy bemutassa a javasolt HeERO megoldásokat és növelje az eCall elfogadottságát. A 2. fázisban maximum öt új tagállam vesz részt. A HeERO projektről további információk érhetők el a projekt web-oldalán: www.heero-pilot.eu.

A workshopon a vitaindító előadásokat követően három szekciókban hangzottak el szakmai előadások mind hazai, mind pedig a projektben résztvevő más országok szakembereinek, illetve az ERTICO szervezet képviselőjének előadásában.

A nagy sikerrel megrendezett rendezvényen mintegy 40 szakember vett részt, ebből 32 hazai, 8 pedig külföldi (román, bolgár, cseh szakemberek, ill. a nemzetközi szervezetek képviselői).
